How I Recover from a Binge

I hate to admit it but I. AM. A. BINGER!

I’m not really sure when it started but just know that one day a long time ago I ate in secret for the first time and it kinda followed me into adulthood. Since beginning my weight loss journey, I have far less binging moments but every now and again the binge spirit takes over me and I eat enough for 5 grown men.

After a day (or weekend) of binging, I try my best to hop back on the healthy train as quickly as possible. I hold out and not eat until my first snack time or longer if I can manage. I drink water until I am stuffed and can barely fit any food my belly (this may not be safe. Don’t try this and talk to your doctor!) and I eat light for the next few days.

My method hasn’t been tested but, for me, it works. My weight usually stabilizes and my body feels pre-binge in no time!

I seriously hate that I sometimes binge and I wish I could stop.

Do you have any tips to help me BEFORE I take the plunge? I hope to hear from you!

  1. To be honest I binge sometimes as well but I think it comes from not having enough of a variety in my everyday diet. If you are eating a healthier way and you incorporate a few small sides that remind you of meals you used to eat that may help. For instance, I made a low carb Alfredo sauce the other day and I dig pasta but I don’t really eat it anymore so I just made ground sausage and poured some alfredo on it and had a side of cauliflower mash and it kinda reminded me of eating fettuccine alfredo back in the day. Also, the water thing is actually a great tip you gave and if you add some electrolytes to your water you can have a little less and not get to the pass out phase.lol. I’m also a big believer that sometimes if you really want something that you probably shouldn’t have try making all your normal healthy stuff with it and eat that stuff first that way you will be full before you eat some fries or something and you won’t go off the deep in. Those binge foods have ingredients in them that raise your insulin but don’t really nourish your body so your hungry and binge because those foods were biohacked to make you eat so much just to get full. Hope this helps and just keep in mind that you are already beautiful and worthy so no matter what you will get this done! I believe in you homie! Peace be the journey!
