Malisa: Where Have I Been?

I wish that I had a long, drawn out response to why I have not been active on Lose to Gain More but the truth is that I have been working and eating (A LOT). I have a job that consists of many extreme highs and lows in regards to work load. For example, I just completed a two-week program that I have been working on since January 8th and as the work began to pile on, so did the pounds!

We feed our guests each day, so there is always food around tempting everyone in the office. To be fair, I am not being forced to eat unhealthy. We offer many healthy alternatives but when my stress is high, I crave nothing but sugar and run from the sight of lettuce. During my recent programs, my diet consisted of brownies, cookies, pizza, burgers, fries, chips, ice cream and Oreos (for the sake of the post, I will stop there but trust me there was more!)

My large program has been over for two weeks and it has taken me this much time to get my mind in the right space and decide that enough is enough. As you may recall in a post I wrote not along ago (read it here), I had finally fought my way out of a plateau and to my first major goal weight and vowed to never be in the 200’s again. I busted through 200 a long time ago and I am now determined to lose these additional 13 pounds!

Even though I have continued to work out at least 3 days a week (thank God for my trainer), I still ate WAY more calories than necessary. I don’t even want to imagine my life if I had stopped working out altogether!

So here I am! Standing in all 213 pounds of my glory, ready to shred this weight (again) and lose it for good. As you may have read last week, Jasmine has started a Clean Eating Challenge (read it here if you missed it) but I am not participating. I am starting over from scratch – the beginning. I am going to focus on making myself eat foods that are healthy even though my body does not want it. Also, my job was kind enough to purchase me a standing desk, so I am challenging myself to stand at least 4 hours out of my workday. I am hoping that this will help burn additional calories.

Cheers to Day 2! I hope to lose these regained pounds by my birthday in early July. With Jasmine watching my every meal (She really does this. It is annoying yet appreciated), I am sure that I will meet my goal.

Have you ever fallen off the healthy train? What did you do to get back up again? I hope to hear you encouraging words.

It’s not too late to join Jasmine’s 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge! Click here for more details!

  1. I am always falling off the wagon, but sounds like you have had a lot on and it’s only natural for something to fall to the wayside when it’s hectic! But you’re back, and you know you can do this! And you will do this!!
When your mindset isn’t there, the results won’t be either so you did good to take some time to ‘reset’ and now back on it. You got this!!!

    1. You’re right, it is really hard for me to focus on health when I am stressed. I am trying to think of ways to handle my stress better because I can’t gain this much weight every time I have stress in my life. Thank you so much for commenting!!!
